Day of Portugal, New Bedford — THIS is the main event. The 30th Annual Day of Portugal takes over Madeira Field with four days of pure Portuguese culture. Friday kicks off with Banda Senhor da Pedra at 6:00 PM, David De Melo at 7:30 PM, and Jorge Ferreira at 9:30 PM. Saturday brings Luz Eterna (4:00 PM), Tita (5:30 PM), Arlindo Andrade (7:00 PM), and Moda Nova (9:30 PM). Sunday winds down with folklore groups at 4:00 PM, Vavó Brito at 6:30 PM, and Carlos Pires at 7:00 PM. Fall River Juneteenth Celebration — Saturday, June 20. A meaningful celebration of freedom, culture, and community. Fall River’s honoring Juneteenth with events around the city. Check out the Juneteenth Brunch at Duke’s Bakery & Cafe (Fri 12:00-3:00 PM) for food, storytelling, and creative expression.
The Juneteenth Black Party — Friday, 9:00 PM at The Vault Performing Arts Center & Pub (New Bedford). DJ Edward Blendz spinning old-school, hip-hop, Afrobeats, reggae, and reggaeton. Dress code: Black in honor of the holiday. For ages 40+ who still know how to move. $$$
