Fall River Double Homicide – Arrest Made
A double homicide investigation on Aetna Street concluded with the arrest of 28-year-old Vitor Francisco Gomes of Fall River. Two men were found—one with a pitchfork impaled in the back of his head—prompting one of the most disturbing violent crime scenes in recent South Coast history. A self-defense claim has emerged, and the case remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police and the Fall River Police Department.
Brandon Sylvia Apprehended After Violent Escape
On June 22, New Bedford and Fall River Police collaborated to arrest 30-year-old Brandon Sylvia, a wanted man who cut off his ankle monitor and made violent threats. During arrest, he struck a police cruiser and fled on foot. He now faces charges in New Bedford (OUI, reckless operation, resisting arrest) and severe charges in Fall River (kidnapping, assault with a dangerous weapon, robbery, domestic violence).
FBI Task Force Nets Seven on Child Exploitation Charges
